No prior booking is required for the public campsites. The public campsites are named: Oloololo, Eluai & Iseiya. All of them are located on the Eastern side of the Mara Triangle.

Eluai is located on a hill overlooking a potential river crossing spot. So this particular campsite might give you the chance to watch the build up at the river from the comfort of your camp and when it’s time to cross, you can drive there and witness it all. Public campsites

Preparing for adventure location for camping requires adequate preparation and knowledge, especially when you want to explore the wild.

If you are a seasoned camper or an amateur, these tips will assist you gear up and stay safe during your camping trip.

The first important thing is to establish a level ground, check around for signs of African wild bees or safari ants before nightfall. Regardless of whether you are camping with a ground tent or roof top tent under the five million stars, it is important to ensure your tent is set up during daylight.  Avoid setting your tent directly under a tree.

Next thing to do is set a fire place. Most established camp sites have already places set in advance for lighting camp fire and makeshift kitchen that you can use for cooking. They also have running water or water booster around.

Nights are usually cold, you need a warm sleeping bag or better a warm duvet for the nights.

The Great Migration
